# xcode/assets

> Checks that each asset `Contents.json` parses, and that its image set holds each file it names.

Checks that each asset `Contents.json` parses, and that its image set holds each file it names.

Part of the [`xcode`](/reference/configurations/xcode/) configuration, at the `recommended` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `commit` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. gspot runs this check itself.

## Why

An image set with no image draws nothing at run time.

## What to do

Add the image or delete the asset.

## Example

A `Contents.json` that names a missing `icon.png` reports a finding. Add the image beside it, or remove the reference.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, with a reason:

```shell
gspot ignore xcode/assets --paths "<glob>" --reason "<why>"
```
