Compares `supabase.types_file` with the output the Supabase CLI writes from the local database.

Part of the [`supabase`](/reference/configurations/supabase/) configuration, at the `recommended` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `push` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. It runs supabase. It needs Docker, running.

## Why

Stale types let code compile against a column the database dropped.

## What to do

Run `supabase gen types typescript --local` and write the output to the file.

## Example

A types file that differs from the local Supabase schema reports drift. With the local database running, write the output of `supabase gen types typescript --local` to that file.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, or one of its lint rules, with a reason:

```shell
gspot ignore supabase/stale-types --paths "<glob>" --reason "<why>"
gspot ignore supabase/stale-types --rule <rule> --reason "<why>"
```
