# structure/file-folder-clashes

> Finds a file and a folder with one stem in the same place, such as `turn.ts` beside `turn/`.

Finds a file and a folder with one stem in the same place, such as `turn.ts` beside `turn/`.

Part of the [`structure`](/reference/configurations/structure/) configuration, at the `all` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `commit` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. gspot runs this check itself.

## Why

An import of ./turn names both, and a reader cannot tell which one loads.

## What to do

Rename the file or the folder so their stems differ.

## Example

A `report.ts` beside a `report/` folder reports a clash. Rename one after its job, and update each reference.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, with a reason:
