# site/unused-assets

> Finds files under an assets folder that no page, stylesheet, or script names.

Finds files under an assets folder that no page, stylesheet, or script names.

Part of the [`site`](/reference/configurations/site/) configuration, at the `all` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `push` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. gspot runs this check itself.

## Why

An unreferenced asset ships with every deploy, and nobody dares to delete it.

## What to do

Delete the file.

## Example

An image that no built page or stylesheet references reports an unused asset. Delete it from the source assets, and rebuild.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, with a reason:
