# site/size

Sums the compressed weight of the built paths each ceiling in site.size\_limit names.

Part of the [`site`](/reference/configurations/site/) configuration, at the `recommended` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `push` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. gspot runs this check itself. It needs a build of the project. It skips until you set `site.size_limit`.

## Why

Page weight grows a kilobyte at a time, and only a limit catches it.

## What to do

Remove what the page does not need, or raise the ceiling with a reason.

## Example

A built page over its limit reports the measured size. Remove unused assets or shrink the page, then rebuild.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, with a reason:
