# expo/expo-doctor

Runs Expo Doctor and reports each failed check with its details.

Part of the [`expo`](/reference/configurations/expo/) configuration, at the `recommended` [level](/start/concepts/#levels). It runs at the `push` [stage](/start/concepts/#stage), once per scope. It runs expo-doctor. It needs network access.

## Why

A native package on the wrong version for the Expo SDK builds and then crashes on the device.

## What to do

Follow the advice Expo Doctor prints, then run `npx expo install --check`.

## Example

A `react-native` version that differs from the one the Expo SDK requires fails a Doctor check. Run `npx expo install --check` to install the matching version.

## Turn it off

Turn it off for some files, with a reason:
