bash/safety
Finds broad process kills and recursive deletes, except traps that remove mktemp paths. At level all, also reports discarded failures.
Part of the bash configuration, at the recommended level. It runs at the commit stage, per file. gspot runs this check itself.
Each of these lets a script silently destroy something by mistake.
What to do
Section titled “What to do”Handle the failure. For required cleanup, use gspot ignore bash/safety with --rule, --paths, and --reason.
Example
Section titled “Example”killall worker reports broad-kill. Stop the one process by its ID, or ignore the rule for that script with a reason.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”Turn it off for some files, with a reason:
gspot ignore bash/safety --paths "<glob>" --reason "<why>"
