gspot checks style sheets, and the style blocks inside Vue and Svelte components, with Stylelint. Its options come from `gspot.toml`; [Lint rule options](/configure/lint-rules/#stylelint) shows how to change them.

| [`css/stylelint`](/reference/checks/css/stylelint/) | `commit` | Lints every stylesheet with the standard stylelint rules: unknown properties, overridden selectors, and invalid values. |

## Component styles

The Vue and Svelte configurations hold their own style parsers and syntax exemptions; plain CSS gets neither. gspot installs the HTML parser package only when Stylelint reads component styles from a selected framework.

Tailwind directives and `theme()` need a `tailwindcss` dependency in the nearest npm project.

Value checks skip declarations that contain `theme()` or the Vue `v-bind()`. Variables inside `v-bind()` keep their case, but CSS keywords need lowercase letters.
